HOW DOES LASER TATTOO REMOVAL WORK?
-
Tattoo ink is seen as a foreign body in the skin layer. With our laser tattoo removal treatment, laser light targets the pigment in the ink, causing photo-acoustic fragmentation of the ink particles. These particles are then removed by phagocytes and drained out of the body via the lymphatic system.

-
The laser only targets ink in the skin and doesn’t damage the surrounding tissue.

-
The effect of the treatment can take 6-8 weeks, which is why it is important to leave enough time between treatment for the body to naturally break down the ink and heal.

-
Before your laser tattoo removal treatment, you will be offered a telephone or face-to-face consultation with one of our laser specialists. They will be able to tell you how many treatments you’ll require for optimum results.

-
Between 4-8 sessions is usually required to obtain satisfactory results, depending on the type of tattoo. Rarely more treatments may be required.
BEFORE & AFTER
Q-Switched laser with three wavelengths for more colours.

1064nm for dark skin types with blue or black inks.

Our Q-Switched laser is safe for all skin types and can target hard to treat colours such as reds, greens, and blues. And of course it works wonders on traditional black ink tattoos.

For most professional tattoos, the required number of treatments is around 8-12. Cosmetic tattoos can take around 4-6 treatments and armature tattoos could require even less.

Tattoo removal starts at £65 per session depending on the size, age, ink colour and location of the tattoo.

Expert Commentary
Dr Berry explains that tattoo removal works using specialised lasers which avoid heating the skin, but fire acoustic shock waves at the large tattoo ink particles to smash them. The body then absorbs thems and breaks them down to fade the tattoo with each session. A minimum of 6 sessions is usually recommended.

Who will carry out my tattoo removal session?

Your treatment will be carried out by our experienced Laser Therapist, Lucy. In your session, Leah will discuss with you any information needed to support you through your tattoo removal journey. This includes aftercare, ways to improve the removal process as well as any other information you would like to know.
Is Tattoo Removal painful?

To minimise the painfulness of having a tattoo removed we use a numbing cream for 30 minutes prior to your appointment. We will also use a Zimmer cooler on the skin which blows out -30 degrees air to help with any further discomfort. Laser tattoo removal is also a very quick procedure.

Side-Effects

Your skin will look slightly blistered with a red rash for a few days after your procedure as part of the healing process. If this is uncomfortable you could apply a cold ice pack on the area.

Aftercare

-
Do not exercise for 24-48 hours post a treatment.
-
The area will feel slightly tender post a treatment, so the last thing you want to do is aggravate or hurt the area.
-
-
Avoid excessive heat to the skin. Whilst it is ok to shower 2 hours after a treatment, please avoid high-pressure hot showers, or soaking in a bath or sauna for at least 24-48 hours afterwards.
-
Make sure to keep the area clean and dry during the healing process. A mild soap can be used and make sure to pat dry and do not rub
-
Do not expose the treated area to the sun.
